Baking Philosophy

People mention baking being an exact science. With each ingredient exactly measured, every gram accounted for and every step precisely followed. However, for me baking is an art. Just as a sculptor does not truly know the shape its mould may take, baking should be free to exploration and tweaks at every step. You never know what magic you can create. Baking is also about balance. The balance of right textures are only hit if allowed to mix and breathe at its own space. For me, baking is intimate, something so truly personal, that it stands to be the reason of one of my greatest joy. Be it a decadent chocolate cake or a plain loaf of bread, I imprint my love with each bake. And that, truly stands to be my baking philosophy!
